Ain Shams University, the third Egyptian university, was founded in July 1950 under the name ‘Ibrahim Pasha University’. It partnered with two predecessor universities, ‘Cairo University’ (Fuad I) and ‘Alexandria University’ (Farouk I), to fulfill the mission of universities and meet the growing demand of young people for higher education. When Ain Shams University was founded, it consisted of a number of distinguished academic faculties and institutes, which were later developed into a university.
